My sisters, a friend, and I traveled to Israel November 2011, and toured with Avraham for 7 days. He worked with us on a complex itinerary, which allowed us to see a great deal of his beautiful country, as well as visit with family. Avraham is knowledgeable on all things Israel: it's rich history, diverse people, religion, politics, archeology, nature, and more. He can provide you with information on anything from where to buy the best skin care products at the Dead Sea, to where to find the best hummus in Jerusalem. Avraham arranged some unique experiences such as riding camels in the Negev Desert, followed by lunch prepared by Bedouins. His tour of the Yad Veshem, the Holocaust History Museum, was quite powerful having had family who were victims of the Holocaust. Traveling with a guide made out trip much more enjoyable, as we were able to sit back and enjoy the ride with no worries, while listening to Avraham's wonderful stories. His tours are thoughtful and well presented. Avraham is a kind, patient person with a great sense of humor. I highly recommend having a guide when traveling to Israel, and Avraham is the best. He created a unique and memorable experience. I cannot imagine our trip without him!
We were recommended to Avraham through a colleague here in the US. What a find!! I learned more about the history of Jerusalem and Israel in 6 hours than what I "thought" I knew in all my years of schooling. A day with Avraham Tuval in the Old City is priceless. He was prompt when he picked us up at the hotel, gave us a nice overview of the history of the Old City from the mount of olives before taking us on intimate walk through the entire city. He even gave us insight into the local politics that we happened to come across while in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City and took us to a great Hummus place for lunch. If you are going to Israel and want an in depth look into Israel and the city of Jerusalem don't miss Avrahamtours.co.il
We have just completed a three day tour with Avraham visiting Jerusalem, Masada and The Dead Sea, Sea of Galilee and Nazareth. It was excellent, his knowledge, insight and understanding brought Israel to life for us. We would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.
Dear Avraham, I want to thank you for given us a wonderful day in Jerusalem. Your explanation of the history made it even more meaningful and understanding. I will never forget this day in Jerusalem. Your guidance, your knowledge made it to a great experience. Thank you.
Avraham gave us an amazing experience, and allowed us the opportunity to see places and do things we never would have been able to do on our own. Not only did he teach us a lot, but he provided a great balance of activities for all of us in way satisfied the wives with their desire to shop a little as well as making sure we did not miss anything we should not miss. He was not at all political. Avraham kept us safe, alert, entertained, and added a dimension to this trip that would have been impossible to achieve on our own or with a larger group. He was sensitive to all of our needs and made this trip an experience second to none we have ever had.
My mother and I toured with Avraham and this trip ended up being one of best we've ever taken. Avraham was very flexible, accommodating and receptive, not to mention very knowledgeable of Israel's attractions and famous sites. He customized our tour in exactly the way we asked. We have very great memories of this trip with Avraham.
Since this was our first time with a guide in Israel, it is difficult to claim that Avraham is the best, but he was fantastic. We were a group of ten and over a 9-day period he basically took us through all of Israel. He's very knowledgeable, personable, even keeled, and a straight shooter. You don't get the sense that he's got any agenda, he just reports the facts and is not afraid to address the complicated issues that exist in this part of the world. We're going to go back because we found this part of the world infinitely fascinating and we will be calling on Avraham to lead us again. This is the first time in my life I've felt compelled to provide a social media review of anyone or anything.
Avraham picked us up every morning promptly at 8..... and took us to all the great sites in Israel...... Jerusalem..... Tel Aviv.... Masada....even a dip in the Dead Sea...... lots of great stories and history of this great land...... we were a family for 6 days..... you will be fortunate if he can accommodate your dates.
Our family spent one day in the north with Avraham seeing Zippori, a fascinating archeological site, Nazareth, and Safed, and then one day in Jerusalem touring the old city sites. Avraham was a wonderful guide. He took us to areas overlooking Jerusalem on Mt Scopus and Mt of Olives and gave us a detailed history of the city and the holy sites of all three religions. We then walked around the sites and discussed them in detail. In addition, we had great discussions on topics of politics and daily life. It was a fascinating day with some stops for good food as well, especially at a hummus restaurant in the old city. I highly recommend Avraham!
Yes, we are picked up in time. Jerusalem was very interesting. We were at Mount Scopus, at Mount Olive, after we went to Old City. Avraham told a lot of information about places, he told stories even about vehicles along the road to Jerusalem. It wasn’t easy to find a parking space in the parking garage, but Avraham solved not the traditional way. You feel Jerusalem a sacred place, no matter what religion you believe in. You can love such a multicultural city, because the people can achieve a wide variety of impressions in them.
I've been several times to Israel and on 3 of these occasions I used the services of Avraham Tuval for guidance. Each and every time this has been an exploration of the past. Great learnings and fantastic culinary experiences. I personally recommend Avraham Tours for exploring the country of Israel.
Just perfect. We did only have a few hours time. However, I enjoyed every minute with Avraham. He is perfectly organized, explained very well and was flexible to change plans any time. A perfect guide who exceeded all expectations.
Avraham had very good background knowledge of the sights he showed us in Jerusalem. He knew all the shortcuts and lots of interesting businesses. It was one of the most interesting excursions I have ever been to
Having been on a Jerusalem roundtrip before, but on our own and without a skilled guide, this became something completely different. Avraham's knowledge added a lot of value, both when it came to historical facts but also when discussing current facts and conditions in Israel. In addition to this we appreciated his willingness to adapt the trip and, for us, add a Dead Sea trip on short notice during the same day.
We spent a half day with Avraham in the old town of Jerusalem. After exchanging with him some text message Avraham made for us a tailor made tour, specific to what we wanted to see! The tour was perfect, we learnt a lot, went to some places which were not in the guide book, had explanations on all the history of Jerusalem, and always with clear explanations and smile. We discovered so much thanks to Avraham! I definitely recommend Avraham!
Avraham is a very pleasant guide. It was a great interesting and individual tour! I recommend everyone to book a professional guide.
We went with Avraham for a one-day tour of the dead sea, Masada, St. Georg's monastery and Qumran. Avraham did a great job, explaining historical, geographical and political details to us. We travelled comfortably in his Land Cruiser and felt safe all the time. Definitely a good choice.
An excellent walking tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa beginning in Old Tel Aviv and walking back into history to the founding of the city. Avraham is very knowledgeable and has a great sense of history. I recommend him as your guide. Dianne R.
He was kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable. My family and I went all over Israel December 2018. Sights included Jerusalem, Masada, Dead Sea, Nazareth, Galilee, Golan Heights. I highly recommend Mr. Tuval. Great experience. Although, I don't recommend in Winter - their rainy season - and it rained and was cold.
My wife and I had an amazing walk tour of Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa with Avraham. He if very accommodating and incredibly knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him as your guide. Jay
We ended up spending 3 days touring with Avraham, a man whose brain is brimming with knowledge of the historical events which is so fascinating about Jerusalem and Israel as a whole. Due to this wealth of information it allows for a unique contrast with the modern society and allowed for a good insight into life in Israel and making us wanting to come back. I (18) travelled with my father (41) to do this tour and although I was apprehensive beforehand thinking it would be a dry history lesson, I learned I could not be more wrong. Avraham brought us to a viewpoint at which he started to explain some of the fundamental occurrences during the history of Jerusalem, the information was delivered well and the story was well thought out and presented. Avraham managed to turn all the information in bite sized portions and when we left Jerusalem we really came out in awe of what an amazing city it is. For anybody who is looking to experience Jerusalem in a day and come out feeling you've got to know the city and to an extent understand the culture Avraham is the only guide we can actively recommend. Not only did Avraham show us Jerusalem, he also took us to see Masada and the dead sea among other smaller trips. So I would recommend planning all activities in Israel with him as he provides a great experience blended with easily comprehensive chunks of Israel's culture and history.
Avraham guided our family through Israel from south to north, east to west for 4 consecutive days. His knowledge and patience were an example and encouragement. We left feeling we need to return to learn more. This Israeli man has been profoundly impacted by the holocaust and understands the Jewish, Christian and Islamic claims on Jerusalem and Israel. He has traveled extensively throughout the region. I remember Avraham purchasing a book at the Holocaust Museum and thinking, "This man constantly adds to his knowledge!" He is always learning as he goes. He became a friend and a teacher during our time together. Do not hesitate to engage Avraham as your tour guide.
We have just completed a 3 day tour with Avraham in the Golan Heights, for a group of 20 and we loved him as our guide! He was very helpful in planning the trip with me as my group of 20 had different wants and needs... He was very patient with the youngest members in my group (11 years old) as well as with the oldest ones (73 years old)... he was so accommodating and responsive throughout the planning process as well as on the trip itself. He has an extensive list of contact names of places and people from good restaurants to interesting places to visit. I would def recommend him to anyone who is planning a trip to Israel and a bit worried about moving around alone.
Avraham was excellent and made our trip in Jerusalem very enjoyable. We were a family group of 6 all between the ages of 30-65. My husband is Israeli and even he saw things and learned things that day that he had never seen before. Avi was prompt on time, nice, well educated on what he was showing us, and a pleasure to be with. I myself can lose interest in things easily, but Avraham did the perfect job on explaining what things were perfectly without going on too long about it and going on and on. He was easy to understand and was open for as many questions as you wanted to ask him. He was patient with us, which I love. I would recommend him to anyone and will definitely be telling all my family and friend about him for their future trips to Israel!
Avraham completely catered to our family. He helped us pick out hotels and sites to visit. HE is extremely passionate about Israel and took us places that most of our friends had never visited. We were looking for a tour that had some adventure so he took us repelling, off road driving and on some great nature walks. He was efficient got all our bags everyday and we were able to see a lot in the 10 days that we were in Israel. I would recommend him for families, couples, solo or any one. He was truly awesome!!
Our local tour operator in the USA arranged for Avraham to be our guide. We had an idea what we wanted to see, and Avraham organized an amazing adventure. Starting in Tel Aviv, down to the Negev where we visited the Bedouin communities and Ben-Gurion's Desert Home, then up towards Haifa, Caesarea, the Baha'i Gardens, Rosh Hanikra, Rosh Pinna, Safed, Golan Heights, Jerusalem, Masada, Dead Sea, and ending with Yad Vashem. The detailed knowledge the Avraham had on each of our stops was incredible. In one week we saw so much of Israel, for some too much in 7 days, but for us there wasn't enough time to see more. We highly recommend Avraham for your trip to Israel as we will use him again when we return. David & Nancy
We stopped the routine and went to Jerusalem for an evening stroll. Obviously, we have already been there, like everyone else. But this trip with Abraham, with the walls, roofs, instructive stories and cool breeze of Jerusalem was kind of magic! Exemplary organization immediately brought harmony to the team, we were captured by the walls, alleys, smells, colors and history of Jerusalem. Thanks Abraham, it was a wonderful trip, we enjoyed it so much! Looking forward for a next trip! Gila Shkedy
Recommendation for a three-hour guided tour with the tour guides Abraham Tobol: In October 2014, we set out, a group of twenty seventy-year-olds, to a trip to Sarona. We were very impressed by our guide Abraham Tobol with his extensive knowledge as well as his ability to transmit information. He gave an excellent presentation on the topic of the Templars' settlement in a focused, concise and very interesting way, without philosophizing or going off on other tangents. The tour began outside of Sarona in places that are familiar to us in modern Tel Aviv, since most of us were born in Tel Aviv and have been there many times, but we did not know that in the past, all around the Templar neighborhood were agricultural areas. Abraham knew how to explain the various crops and irrigation systems in a way that we were able to imagine them and see them today. We continued on to houses that were relocated to their present locations, and we heard, with the accompanying pictures, all about how this was done, about each house of interest, what it was in the period of the Templars and what it was used for until the present. The group members greatly enjoyed the tour and were impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. In the name of the group we highly recommend our guide Avraham Tuval. Sincerely, Tamar Levy
My wife and I were part of a group of 10 friends (mostly in our 60s) who toured Israel in October 2014 guided by Avraham Tuval. We have nothing but the highest praise for the wonderful job done by Avraham. We visited a great many interesting sites in Jerusalem (Old City and New City), Qumram, Masada, the Dead Sea, Safed, Rosh Pina, Tzippori, Tiberius, Nazareth, Akko, Haifa, Caesarea, Jaffa and Tel Aviv. Avraham was extremely knowledgeable, affable and objective/nonjudgmental in his presentation of controversial political and religious issues, not to mention indefatigable. He had a full agenda for us each day, but was happy to be flexible based upon our desires and our energy level. In sum, I would highly recommend Avraham to any group, large or small, that wants a great visit to sites throughout Israel. Our group of ten all agreed without exception that Avraham did a fantastic job for us. We would definitely work with him again on our next visit to this amazing country.
Avraham Tuval is knowledgeable, professional and a lovely man as well. He took 4 of us around for 3 days and we could not get enough. I would highly recommend his services.
Wonderful trip, Wonderful guide, Wonderful person. On the 17.11.15 Turnowsky firm had it's most enjoyable trip ever. Very warmly recommended for those who love life. Yael, Turnowsky's owner.
I cannot say enough good things about Avraham's tour. With three friends, Avraham led us on a wonderful, personal tour of the Mount of Olives and the Old City of Jerusalem. Avraham has a pleasant demeanor that belies the depth of his knowledge. He provided good depth wherever we walked or stopped, going deeper when we asked for more insights and history. I had the good fortune of visiting Jerusalem during Holy Week. Avraham related the sites we visited to the stories that I have heard since childhood. I would love to go back and, if I do, will plan the trip around Avraham's availability, he is that good.
I was in Israel on business and had only 1.5 days for touring. Avraham made the most of our time and went above and beyond showing us all the best of The Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, and Jerusalem. He made unscheduled stops for us to see things we mentioned we were interested in and even offered to drop me at the airport on the last day so we could maximize our time in Jerusalem. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is interested in a tour by a very experienced guide who can tailor the experience. I hope to return some day and tour again with him to see all the sights I did not have time for on the last trip.
We had only one day to tour Jerusalem and a list of many places to see. Avraham customized our tour just exactly as we wanted it. It was remarkable. Avraham has great knowledge of the history of Jerusalem as well as the current workings. He organized our tour to best meet our needs, answered numerous questions, recommended delicious lunch choices. He even knew the cleanest restrooms! We would highly recommend this guide.
We were in Israel for 3 weeks with Stanford University. While the group visited Masada, we spent a day with Avraham first visiting Yemin Moshe and Mishkenot Sha'anaim to understand how Jerusalem emerged from the Old City and Neve Ya'akov to understand the haredization of Jerusalem. Our next stop was Ammunition Hill to discuss the 6 day war and its effect on the city. Our final stop was a weekly demonstration of left wing activists protesting the Israeli occupation. It was an eclectic program, and it provided some unique insights into the historical and geopolitical development of Jerusalem.
I was in Israel for Business and had limited time. A private tour was arranged with Avraham. I had done a tour 8 years ago so I was somewhat familiar with some of the places but Avraham took me to places and pointed out things I had not seen on the previous tour. He has such an expansive knowledge of all faiths and is most respectful when talking about what is most important to all. I really enjoyed his company and traveling alone as a woman I felt safe. Thank you for an amazing day!
We spent four days touring with Avraham - in Jerusalem, Masada, Tel Aviv, Jaffa. Avraham is extremely knowledgeable and was full of historical, current political and cultural information about Israel and the people. We enjoyed every minute and appreciated Avraham's willingness to be flexible with us and our preferences. He is prompt and professional and has my unqualified recommendation!!!
We wanted to visit the Negev area, having skipped it on our last visit. Avraham offered several choices, and advice, on what to include in a single day starting in Tel Aviv. We had a wonderful day, catching everything that was important to us (Beersheva, Mizpe Ramon and Ramon crater, Sde Boker) in a very full day including a stop for dinner together. We enjoyed Avraham's company, his knowledge and expertise, and his guiding skills.
I visited Israel twice and Avraham was our tour guide. Avraham is very friendly and know Israel history pretty well. He picks us up from the hotel and makes sure we enjoy every place we go and keeps us safe too. He has an amazing sense of humor and always explains the history and story of the place in details. I'd recommend Avraham in a heartbeat when it comes to sight seeing.
After two separate friends recommended Avraham to me after their private tours of Jerusalem with him, I knew he'd be perfect for our group. We organized a Jerusalem tour for 80 of our wedding guests who came from America for our wedding in Israel. Avraham led half the group, of all different ages, in a wonderfully organized tour of the Old City. Our group consisted of people of all ages, most of whom had never been to Israel, and literally every person was incredibly engaged for all of his explanations and guiding. Thank you Avraham for helping make our wedding trip even more special and memorable for us and all of our guests!
Avraham helped us fashion a perfect day in a very busy Jerusalem. Even though the old city was packed, we were able to see a great deal in just one day. A great view from mount olive put the locations we were to visit in perspective. Then we went to the city of David (kids loved Shiloah Tunnel!), western wall, walked through the shuk to the Church of Holy Sepulcher, all the while hearing historical tidbits. A great journey through thousands of years of history. Avraham was kind enough to make suggestions by email during the rest of our trip in the land of Israel, and answered our questions about options.
I have been for the first time in Israel. I spent fantastic day in Jerusalem, Avraham clearly shown his deep knowledge and experience of the Jerusalem City, also his engagement was first class! I really recommend Avraham for everyone who wants to know much more than just what's stated in the travel books! Mariusz M - Poland
We had a day trip to Jerusalem. Avraham took us to the old city, showed us around and talked through the history. He was very kind and knowledgeable and answered all our questions in detailed. I had zero knowledge about the city other than what's being on the media. I highly recommend this tour to everyone and make sure you try out the Jerusalem baguette
We just spent 10 days touring Israel with Avraham and what an experience. His knowledge of each site and his input on where to spend our time made the trip effortless and a once in a lifetime experience. Highly recommend his company.
We spent 12 days in Jerusalem and our first 2 days were in Tel Aviv. The half day tour was a great way to start our trip. Avraham was fantastic, very friendly, and quickly responded to any questions we had prior to the trip. He taught us a lot about Jaffa, the founding of Tel Aviv (some original homes are still there), as well as the overall history of the founding of Israel. We walked about 4 miles and had no issues with the length of the tour or the pace. We will return one day to Israel, and to Tel Aviv, and will definitely contact him again. No hesitation -- highly recommend Avraham.
We are repeat users of Avraham and always have a most educational and inspirational time with him You will not do better!
I am staying in Israel and whenever I have family and friends visiting me from abroad I hire Avraham for Jerusalem walking tour. Avraham is an excellent tour guide. He is kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend Mr. Avraham. Great experience.
4 of us spent two glorious days with Avraham. The old city of Jerusalem and sites in northern Israel. An experience of a lifetime. We were taken care of, educated and entertained. In my opinion the only way to see and experience such a special and awesome place. We would most certainly seek his guidance again if we were to return.
What a wonderful private tour of Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa from a very knowledgeable guide! Avraham met us as scheduled in Dan Panorama Hotel lobby. He told us there how he planned our 4 hour+ walking tour. We visited the colorful Carmel Market with its colorful spices, spices and fresh food and then walked to a hall to learn from pictures and explanations how Israel got its independence. We then walked through the “White City” admiring Tel Aviv’s stunning Bauhaus architecture and saw some of Rothschild’s Boulevard’s most iconic building. Old Jaffa was our final destination with its cobblestone streets, stone buildings, and fishing boats. It was an outstanding morning with Avraham.! Our group of 4 learned so much about Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa from him! Avraham even suggested places to have lunch on Old Jaffa Harbor!
We had our tour Israel with Avraham and visited Jerusalem, Jericho, Masada and Bethlehem. The experience was fantastic. Cannot think of a better guide, he knows everything about Israel. Our kids (17 and 16), appreciated his patience and the way he answered all kind of questions about the history, religions and culture of this contradictory land. The visit to the Holocaust Museum with him was simply unforgettable.
I cannot recommend Avraham Tours highly enough! We were two Jewish girls and two Catholic girls who used Avraham to tour Israel for 11 days and we had the best time. Avraham is so knowledgeable about the history of Israel from both religious perspectives. He mapped out a wonderful itinerary and we could not have asked for a better trip. I learned more during this trip than I ever would have imagined. Thank you so much Avraham!!!!!
Avraham is deeply thoughtful, knowledgeable, efficient, and easy to work with. He was our family's tour guide in Israel and Petra for about 10 days this past month. Avraham planned the majority of our trip which included interfacing between many families, shepherding over 11 of us across the Jordan border, leading us by jeep through the Wadi Rum Desert, touring us through Petra and the Old City in Jerusalem, and organizing a day at the Dead Sea. Avraham handled everything perfectly and efficiently, never seemed stressed, kept track of everything and everyone, ensured that every leg of the trip ran smoothly, and provided us all with a great deal of comfort and information along the way. Besides for being very knowledgeable and extremely capable, Avraham is also very flexible. He adjusted and adapted our itinerary constantly without complaint depending on the ever-changing attention spans, hunger levels, priorities, and moods of everyone in our very large (and sometimes difficult) group. We had a great time with Avraham, are very grateful for all his guidance, leadership, information, and hard work, and we would definitely recommend him to any group or family big or small!
Our visit to Israel was made all the more special with the help of Avraham. His insightful and informative guidance helped a clearer understanding of the very confusing history and geography. We thoroughly enjoyed being with him for the week. He is professional, incredibly well organized, generous, warm and very friendly in his approach. I highly recommend Abraham Tours... for the day or for the week.
So it happens that friends and I visited Israel last week for a business event and decided to end the week with a trip to Jerusalem. So at half past midnight the day before I recall that my buddy Abraham, old industry friend, is a tour guide, a quick text and he is on board and ready to guide us. Lady luck strikes ! We met him for our tour of Jerusalem on the highway leading to the city. We proceeded a Mount Scopus for a panorama or the Judea Desert and proceeded to a walking tour or the old city quarters which was informative, dynamic and interactive. We saw the Western Wall, Temple mount mosques, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and naturally the shook where we had a wonderful lunch. Choosing Abraham to be our guide was fortuitous, his knowledge and visual aids made our trip fun and educational. Many thanks on behalf of all of us !
Avraham has taken my elderly parents and their guests on a long day tour from Haifa to Jerusalem. The infinite amount of knowledge he shared about the places they visited included all aspects of history and religion. The true love of his profession and the way he treated his guests made this an exceptional experience for them. Glad we have chosen his service and would highly recommend it to anyone who has an opportunity to visit Jerusalem.
The best tour guide I have ever had. I am a single, young-adult, American female and was traveling to Israel for the first time solo, so it was important for me to see Jerusalem and feel safe. Avraham was amazing! I had accidentally listed the wrong hotel for pickup and it was no worries! We then drove to Israel and he provided a great background on the history. The drive down was super smooth! When we arrived in Tel Aviv everything was planned so well (even the parking!). Avraham had a pointer to show all the great points while we walked, he clearly knew things that most other tour guides don't know, and he summarized succinctly all the beautiful history that Jerusalem had to offer. We hit the most important areas (Church of Holy Sep. and Wailing Wall) but Avraham also found a way to weave in some Greek Orthodox pieces which were important to me as a Greek-American. Super articulate and told stories and history across all three major religions (Muslim, Jewish, Christian). We walked the Christian, Armenian, and Jewish quarters, all the while Avraham pointed out the beautiful history. The drive back was equally smooth and payment was easy (phone attachment credit card swipe).
My husband and I had a wonderful experience traveling with Avraham. The custom tour was a day at Jerusalem and Dead Sea. Avraham was a wealth of info and was able to highlight the key place of interests and info as timing was quite tight. We like his seriousness and are impressed with his knowledge about history and culture. We could not have asked for a better experienced tour guide and are very happy we chose this company to organize this trip for us. Best Christine and Anthony
He provided a wealth of information about the history of Jerusalem without showing any bias. Avraham also exposed me to the best hummus I've ever consumed in my life! He was patient with our shopping goals and answered almost every question that we had. Overall I would have done another tour with Avraham if I had another day in Israel.
a great tour for mid 70's couple with limited ability to walk. Avi went above and beyond making sure that we were able toes everything important to us. would use again and would send my friends as well. 3 days touring, direct pickup and return to the ship. well worth the price charged. thanks again Avraham...
My daughter and I did a half-day walking tour of Tel Aviv and Old Jaffa with Avraham and it was terrific. He took us to many sights, including several that we would not found ourselves. A real history student, lot of knowledge. Very recommended.
Avraham guided us on a 10-day tour throughout Israel. We provide him with our general areas of interest with a desire for the trip to very experiential. He planned a customized tour with great insights of Israel, which we tweaked based upon our interest. During the tour, he provided a depth of knowledge of Israel's history and insight on what it was like to live in Israel today. I loved how he managed everything, and left our group to enjoy our once a lifetime experience. I would highly recommend him to anyone that wants an "out the tour bus" experience of Israel!
That was not the first time that I had Avraham as my tour guy - I had great tours with him in the past for my company employees and VIP customers. But this time it was a very special tour ... my spouse celebrated her birthday and we decided to surprise her by having a surprise event in Jerusalem - Avraham was the one that was chosen to lead our 40 friends and family members in the streets of Nachlaot. It was a magic night for all - with many stories related to Hanukkah in Jerusalem, interesting places in Nachlaot and lighting together the candles of Hanukkah - great atmosphere. We all enjoyed it very much - we strongly recommend Avraham to guide you in Israel.
The first part of our trip was jam packed with the wonderful sights of Israel. Our whole family went in November 2015. The kids had been there recently on birthright but the adults hadn't been there in over 30 or more years. At times we were as many as 14 and as few as 4 (depending on the day and the arrival of the rest of the family). We walked through in Safed visiting ancient synagogues and walked through the artist's quarter then to Golan Height and Mt. Bental. That was so interesting when we went into the bunker and spoke with the UN soldiers as we looked onto Syria. Next day to Upper Galilee to Beit Alfa making our way to Jerusalem. Stopping at Mt Scopus to see the beautiful view of Jerusalem at sundown. Avraham took us on a walking tour of the old city, the 14 stations and finally the Western Wall. The next day, we headed to Masada at 4am to watch the sunrise. Avraham was at the end of the group to make sure everyone of us made it safely to the top as we climbed. I was lucky enough to be the last one up so I was able to get more insight about the climb up and the history behind Masada. Once we were at the top, the history lesson continued. We climbed or took the cable car down and off to the dead sea. What a great day. Finally, the next day, we headed to Tel Aviv and headed over to Caesarea. We visited the Roman Ruins, the Aqueduct and walked about the site overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It was so beautiful. Avraham is so full of information and has the answers to everything and even pulls out maps to show us where we are, where we are going and what Israel looked like Israel thousands of years ago. After Caesarea, we headed over to Atlit for a tour of the detention camp. Then to a Druze village and lunch. After lunch we headed over to Haifa to view the golden-domed Baha'i Temple and terraces which stretch down the mountain side. It was such a wonderful experience with Avraham. I highly recommend touring with Avraham! He became part of the family and it was sad to end our time with him.
As seasoned travelers who frequently use guides to enhance holidays, our time with Avraham as a guide in Israel was truly a unique and extraordinary experience. What makes Avraham a stand out guide? Highly intelligent about many subjects; deeply knowledgeable about the history, topography and people of Israel; itineraries are based on individual preferences; flexible and adaptable; and an engaging, thoughtful and lovely man. We visited many places with Avraham including Masada, the Dead Sea, Yad Vasham, Golan Heights, Old and New Cities of Jerusalem. He shared stories, background and brought to life for us the historical and present times of Israel. Avraham’s tour changed forever the ways in which we will think about Israel and the wonderful people who live there.
We three ladies wanted a day tour with Avraham starting from Jaffa and ending in the Judean hills. Avraham suggested several points of interest along the Med. Sea and two national parks. The Springs of Gideon Nat'l Park - where a favorite Bible story from Judges 7 actually took place (historically accurate) - and Sachne National Park with waterfalls and palms - were favorites. Time spent with Avraham was delightful. We felt well-cared-for, and could discuss world events and a wide variety of subjects with him. Our tour with Avraham was a highlight of our excellent adventure in Israel.
We LOVED Avraham. He is the bomb. Okay that's probably a bad choice of words but you know what I mean. Super knowledgeable, professional, friendly, service-oriented.
South to North a complete tour of Israel...explored geography, history and political areas of the country. Avraham is extremely knowledgeable and took his time to explore and explain each area and cities we visited. His planning was perfect, from pick up in Eilat to drop off in Tel Aviv, showed us every corner of Israel and No time was wasted. His patience and flexibility has proved his ability to be an excellent Tour Guide/driver. Recommend him 150%!!
My daughter and I were with Avraham for 4 days. He is very knowledgeable, personable, and has the experience to know the little things that most other tour guides would miss. My daughter has lived in Israel for a year and a half and has been to Masada several times previously with school tours. She said that Avraham was the best guide by far. We walked around Masada for quite a while as he pointed out the differences in each of the Roman camps at the base and how the siege was done. He explained in detail how the water system worked and why the group living there had left Jerusalem. He gave us a lot of information about the dead sea and how much commercial activity goes on. We had lunch at a kibbutz that was off the beaten path.
We were a family of 6 people who used Avraham as a tour guide in Jerusalem. What an experience!!! His knowledge of the area, his passion and his attention to detail was amazing. He showed us a million things that now big tour party would have seen. He took us to places that the bigger tour operators avoid, because it would be too much hassle, or would cause congestion. Avraham is probably the nicest guy we’ve met in Israel, and his tour is the highlight in a 3 week trip of Israel. He took us to a beautiful Humus restaurant (ask him about this). Some people in the family did their 2nd tour of Jerusalem and was blown away by what the previous tour operator did not tell/show them – it was almost as if it was a new tour for them. Avraham also took his time in explaining every detail, so much so that the tour was longer than he anticipated, and still it did not cause him to rush things. I would recommend him to any person visiting Israel, or even to any local person planning on visiting there. It is a whole new insight to all 3 religions in the area, and Avraham have great knowledge of all 3 – therefore helping you understand the history even better. I wish him well, and cannot help to think that every city needs a guide like Avraham – he just opens up a city so much better to a tourist.
Avraham took me, my wife and two kids on a great tour of Israel. The four of us had a wonderful time. It was one of the best trips we took together as a family. Aside from being an excellent guide, we found him to be an exceptional individual. Our enjoyment of Israel was in large part due to our relationship with him. The experience we had was one we will never forget, and Avraham, whom we all love, will be a friend for life. I highly recommend taking a tour with Avraham. You will be educated and enriched by traveling with him. He also knows all the good places to eat, which my son and I really appreciated. Thanks Avraham for being a wonderful guide and an even more wonderful person.
Avraham possess extreme historical knowledge of the various nations that lived or concurred the land of Israel as well as the religions which had been developed in this area, namely Judaism, Christianity, Islam and other less known as the Samaritans. This knowledge along with his excellent presentation skills and non the less organizational ability to cope with a large public and still conduct all elements of the tour on time - at a precision of Swiss clock, make tours with Avraham both enjoyable and educational. I participated in several tours Avraham conducted, the last one was few days ago on April 23rd at Samaritans Passover eve on Mount Gerizim, where half of the tiny Samaritans community resides. I am a history frick myself, but the knowledge I was able to gain during this day tour was enormous and highly interesting.
My wife and I picked Avraham Tuval from among several guides after some research and a Skype interview. The prospect of sharing a car with a stranger for a week can be daunting! But the choice was an extraordinarily lucky one. Avraham is the best kind of company on a trip. He planned the lodging, the routes, and the activities for a 7-day hiking-and-history tour that took us from Tel Aviv to the Galilee, the Golan, Amman, the canyons of Jordan, Petra, and the Negev. His communications were always timely and clear during the planning. All that we saw were just the kinds of experiences and lodging we had hoped for. His command of the culture, history and politics of the region made this a superb trip. It's more than that, though. We had forgotten to bring some meds and he spent hours arranging for their replacement -- two days before his tour with us even began! He took many such inevitable travel-friction details on -- during his off-duty hours -- with a patient and friendly spirit, always. We couldn't recommend him more highly.
My husband and I could not have been more pleased with the tour provided by Avraham Tuval. Not only is his knowledge encyclopedic in the areas of religion, history and culture, he has excellent restaurant recommendations, a wonderful sense of humor and tireless energy Whether we were exploring the Old City in Jerusalem, hiking in the Golan Heights or birdwatching near Gamla, Avraham had valuable information about every corner of Israel. From the minute we began planning our itinerary, Avraham was more than willing to set the proper expectations for what we could do each day. When the temperatures got a bit too high for us to comfortably handle the physical toll, he was able to reset the plans without having us miss any important sites. Avraham was very caring as well, he made sure we were safely checked into our hotel as we changed locations and made certain that the hotel staff took care of us. Avraham leaves no detail to chance-he brought a unique combination of knowledge, humor and insight to our experience in Israel. I would highly recommend him to any couple, family or corporate party that is planning a visit to Israel. Just don't book him in late March 2015-we are already planning our return trip!
Avraham is a wonderful giant of a man who is well versed in the history of Israel and its people; thus we were able to see, feel, taste and cerebrally process the richness of a beautifully, culturally and religiously rich country. Avraham's stature and demeanor gave us great comfort and made us feel very much at home. Additionally, my husband and I whole hardly share our compatriot's, Andy U, summation of our 9 day guided tour with Avraham: “Avraham Tuval -- Terrific Israel Tour Guide!” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2014 NEW My wife and I were part of a group of 10 friends (mostly in our 60s) who toured Israel in October 2014 guided by Avraham Tuval.
In December 2014 my wife and I had the privilege of having a private 9 day tour with Avraham Tuval and we absolutely loved every second of it! From the beginning, he worked with us to create a customized itinerary to match our traveling style, tastes, and needs. We found his suggestions to be spot on. He was extremely flexible throughout the trip. He is a wealth of local knowledge and was happy to share many unique / special aspects of Israel with us. He took us all over the country in his private SUV and we also had a 36 hour visit to Petra. We can't speak highly enough about Avraham - he is a true gentleman. We are avid active travelers and this trip exceeded our lofty expectations.
Knowledge - He had wonderful knowledge on all the key areas of Jerusalem and beyond. Also, he provides his key insights, but then doesn't continue speaking for just the purpose of speaking, and allows you to soak in the wonders of the Holy Land. Tailored - He tailored the tour to my specific tastes. I have some very specific areas that I wanted to see in Jerusalem that others do not want to often see, and he tailored the visit to include those. Patience - One of his best traits is that he is very patient with the areas that you want to spend more time with. If I found a specific area interesting, he allowed me to stay and soak in as much time as I needed. No feeling of pressure to move along throughout the entire experience. Above and beyond - As I found out that my dinner got cancelled and that I now had more time to spend in Jerusalem, Avraham organically extended the trip by several hours at no additional cost, no questions asked. I highly recommend Avraham for any potential tours!
The First Northwestern University - Tel Aviv University was held on February 22-25, 2015 (http://materials.tau.ac.il/tau-nu). The 25th was dedicated to a guided tour to Jerusalem. After searching TripAdvisor for recommended tourist guides I contacted Avraham Tuval (and some other guides). Already in our first phone conversation I liked Avraham's attitude, understanding and flexibility, and chose him. Later I liked the way in which he designed the tour, taking into account the composition of the group and consulting with me. The tour included wonderful views from Mount Scopus and Mount of Olives, visit of attractions in the Jewish, Muslim and Christian quarters, including guided tour at the West Wall tunnels, fantastic (late) lunch at the Eucalyptus restaurant in which Avraham arranged that the chef and owner, Moshe Basson, will come, meet the group and describe the history of his his family, the restaurant and the food that is served, and Machane Yehuda market. Avraham was found to be very knowledgeable, provided descriptions exactly in the right amount (not too little, not too much), and answered all questions properly. He brought with him excellent printed maps and images for illustration. He followed the original time plan precisely, from 8:00 to 20:00. All attendees returned excited from this tour. The trip was just wonderful!!! One of the American guests summarized it in writing "The trip to Jerusalem was most memorable". This tour made them all wish to return to Israel with their families. I warmly recommend on Avraham. He is the best tour guide I have ever hired for Jerusalem tours. I will undoubtedly be glad to hire him once again. We returned from a wonderful, eventful week touring Israel with the help of Avraham. From the moment we contacted him months before our trip he was readily available to assist in organizing and planning our diverse itinerary. We really appreciated his efforts beyond the call of duty. When we arrived in Israel we formed a quick and warm bond with Avraham. He was organized and incredibly well informed to allow us to view the most important sites within the short length of our stay. Whether it was climbing up Masada or trekking through the north Avraham was with us every step. We highly recommend Avraham Tuval as a guide for Israel. We contacted several TripAdvisor guides and Avraham was the most responsive of all to us. Thank you again for an unforgettable journey....
Was in Tel Aviv for business and had a small afternoon window before heading to airport in the evening. A colleague recommended Avraham and we were very lucky to have him available for a few hours to take us to Jerusalem. Avraham caters to his clients with the utmost care and details. The guy is a wealth of knowledge about the best routes, the old city of Jerusalem, the ancient details and stories and was able to take us through the old city very efficiently. We only had 2 hours and he made the most out of it. His tour was truly a once in a lifetime experience. I've already promised my wife to bring her with me the next time and planning on booking Avraham for another tour. You learn more from your tour guide than what you see!
This is my second time that Avraham takes me to a tour in Jerusalem. The first one was 7 years ago and the last one was on Thursday (8.6.17) - and still he always can surprise me even more. I wish I had the right words to define how Avraham turned this day in Jerusalem to be very exciting and emotional at the same time. His knowledge is unbeatable. His stories about different times in the history take you back in time and make you feel like you are there at that time. Avraham is also up to date with the latest things that are going on in Jerusalem which makes you realize what a great tour guide Avraham is! Can't wait to be back to Israel and have another tour guide with Avraham.
My partner and I were treated to an extremely in depth and fascinating tour of Jerusalem, and I couldn't recommend Avraham highly enough! We began by stopping outside the city to view the Jordan river and border from Israel, before moving into the city to view the Old City from the Olive Mountain. Avraham then took us on a walking tour of the old city, which was one of the most interesting and involving experiences of my travels. Avraham's knowledge of this place is exceptional, he was able to answer all questions we had and tailored every place that we stopped at to suit what we found more interesting and was constantly linking pieces of information to places and stories that he'd already mentioned. I went on this trip with a very limited knowledge of Israeli history, yet Avraham was able to bring me up to speed before we entered the city which therefore made the whole experience much more rich. Avraham is well known to many of the traders and restaurant owners in the city, so we were greeted warmly wherever we went. Once in the old city, Avraham's descriptions and historical stories of all the quarters were delivered with such enthusiasm and fairness, that we were able to get a very open and honest picture of the immense amount of history of this incredible place. Avraham is professional, highly skilled and knowledgeable and made this trip into such an intense and brilliant experience, I can't rate him highly enough. Thank you, Avraham!
We scheduled a walking tour of Tel Aviv because we have found that to be the best way to really experience a new city. Avraham was a perfect guide for us. He was patient and flexible. We decided where we wanted to go and no matter where it was, he had great stories to tell. walking with Avraham is like getting a history lesson while you're eating ice cream!
In searching for a suitable high school graduation gift for my oldest grandchildren he astounded me by approaching me and requesting that he "...was increasingly identifying himself as a Jew and wished to visit and see Israel through my eyes..." knowing that i have visited the State multiple times over almost a 40 year period. I judged that it would be very important to have a professional guide with us to provide the depth and breadth of Jewish and Israeli history necessary to fully realize his goals. A very dear Israeli friend recommended Avraham whose time with us was beyond value as he shepherded us through Jerusalem, the Dead Sea and other areas that represented a first for me as well as my grandson. Avraham delivered as five star experience for which my grandson and my family will always value and treasure.
We had limited time as we were on a land excursion from our cruise. We worked with him to see very specific meaningful sites all over Israel. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient. In addition, he manages his time effectively and effectively. There was never a question that we asked that he did not have an answer for! After interviewing 5 other tour guides we were completed satisfied with our experience!! I would highly recommend if you are coming to Israel that you contact Avraham!! The More is and Hares.
This was a family trip with my mother and my two sisters and thanks to Avraham, who we now consider family this was one of the best trips we have ever taken in our lifetimes. Avraham is smart and knows his history., he is also very accommodating and he did everything we wanted, I give him a lot of credit to spend three days with four women that never stopped talking. I am not one to leave reviews, but if you want to insure and guarantee that you have a great trip you will not be disappointed with him
He's smart and he listens to his clients. And he is perhaps the most efficient travel guide I have ever met in my travels. My family loves to travel; My 11-year old has been to 15 countries...my 20-year old has 35 stamps on his passport. It's a fantastic world out there, and we want to see-it-all. But I cannot do it alone. The majority of travel agent and guides always want you to fit into their agenda AND most travel advisors overcharge. That would not work for our team. We like to have some flexibility when traveling and we like to get a good deal. Avraham helped us in all these pursuits. After trying several American and Jewish Federation Agencies, I was lucky to discover Avraham through a friend-of-a-friend. I loved that Avraham was local to the region, and whenever I asked him a question about complicated travel arrangements, he always responded quickly and positively. With other agents I often had to wait a day or two, only to receive a "no" for the answer. Since we had to herd a tribe of 15 family members, it was quite an organizational feat. Some of us wanted to relax in luxury; some wanted to press-the-flesh with the locals and sites; some wanted to not be bored by too much history; a some just wanted to ride a camel, and then find the best Turkish bath in Petra. Avraham figured out a way to accommodate us all, and not be annoyed by out noise and divergent interests. Thank you Avraham for being SO together....SO knowledgeable...and SO delightful. Best, And hoping for many greater adventures.
Avraham provided my friend and me with a trip highlighting all of the important historical sites, as well as little known sites, all over Israel. His knowledge is astounding! We requested visits to particular sites and areas, and he worked them all in. My friend has visited Israel five times previously and Avraham took us to places she had never seen. The hotels he booked for us were perfect. We also visited Jordan and he handled that smoothly. This was one of the best trips I have ever taken. You won't find a better guide than Avraham.
When showing up to a new city, I always try to connect with the history, and usually contact someone "in the know", with mixed results. In this case, Avraham was spot on. He not only knew the local area, but just about anything on the history of Israel. At one point on our tour I asked a question about Shabbat, and the next thing I knew, he was leading me into a synagogue to watch the actual service, explaining what was occurring. Later, as we were outside the house of the founder of Tel Aviv, reviewing the history, Avraham noticed a bar mitzvah celebration next door - which ended up being the ancestors of the man who helped establish Tel Aviv. Once again, I was inside, meeting the literal descendants of the founders of Israel. All in all, I can't recommend his tours enough. You'll definitely get what you pay for in the history - and you might also get a lot more.
I was coming to Israel to tour the Indigo plant and decided to turn it into a destination. My travel agent booked Avraham Tuval to take us around and we got to do it all. We started out with "The Old and the New" showing us Old areas and new - including a graffiti tour. We did the Carmel Coast after getting and understanding of how Israel became a state. We saw Caesarea and Haifa. We did Galilee with a private cooking lesson by a Druze woman in her kitchen. So different and interesting. We did Biblical Jerusalem and understand that Israel is the sacred home of many churches including Greek Orthodox, Catholic, Armenian Muslim and Judaism. It was so amazing we got to witness at Batmizva at the same time a group of Muslim school children were touring. Avraham was not only well educated, but knew where to park and shop... and the driving can be difficult to say the least. He even transferred us to our 2nd hotel in Jerusalem where we saw the markets and finally took a swim in the Dead Sea. We really covered a lot, sampling the culture from all perspectives. The tour was custom done for us always accommodating any desired foods or shopping that we wanted to do. I could not imagine even trying to tour Israel without a guide, and so much better than being on a big tour bus. I highly recommend this way and Avraham in particular. He took us to things that no tour bus could even get too.... Including the Monastery in the side of the mountain next to the Dead Sea - amazing.
Words simply cannot express our gratitude to Avraham Tuval, our Israel Tour Guide, for his expertise and knowledge on our nine-day journey through Israel. With every region that we traveled, Avraham painstakingly explained its history, geography, and culture in addition to patiently answering our many questions. As a result, Avraham helped us to learn and appreciate the people and land of Israel on a level we never would have experienced on our own, or with a tour group. Each and every day of our nine-day journey brought us ever deeper within the fabric of Israel and her people. We soon realized that even though we hired Avraham Tuval as a Tour Guide, we ended up with a friend. R & T, friends in Arizona
Two weeks ago, Avraham Tuval took me on a private tour into Jerusalem. This event took place at the end of my (first) business trip to Israel. To be honest, my expectations were modest as I anticipated the platitudes of previous guided tours I had in other parts of the world. However, I could not have been more wrong. During the few hours before my plane left, Avraham managed to get me in touch with the ancient soul of most fascinating city in the world. He has a passion, love and deep historic knowledge of the city’s history. He combines an open mind with the unique sense of humor you only find in Israel. He turned the hours I had the privilege to spent with him in Jerusalem into an unforgettable experience. I will be back for more in-depth visit and I know where to find Avraham.
Avraham was recommended to us by friends who toured with him several years ago. Great decision. He was fantastic starting almost 9 months before our trip, assisting us plan every detail. He made recommendations and arranged everything in advance. Each of our ten days was chock full of activity and his depth of historical knowledge at each and every turn was phenomenal. He was always punctual, respectful of our time and provided us with a trip of a lifetime. He seemed to know people every place we visited, made great recommendations where to eat, and was very patient as our wives took their time shopping... Avraham was also a very safe driver, and after getting to know him better, his quiet sense of humor was slowly revealed. We couldn't have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend Avraham Tours to anyone visiting Israel.
I recently went to Israel for the first time with my husband and two other couples. The six of us were celebrating our 25 anniversaries. Avraham was recommended by a friend of one of the couples. From the beginning of planning the trip nine months earlier to saying goodbye on our last day, Avraham was just awesome. His fountain of knowledge is just unbelievable. Whether it be about history, religion, geology... he shared amazing facts and stories. Incredibly patient as well as noted in his calm waiting as I tended to be a little slow during the hikes, and in the markets. He is totally fluent in English, and appreciated my desire to dip into speaking Hebrew. If you’re looking at a big tour with 45+... stop! Rethink your plan. You want the most out of this experience and Avraham will give it to you.
This was our first trip to Israel, we didn't have a lot of time, 10 days in total, and we were traveling as a family with the youngest 21, and the oldest 83. I wanted to cover as much as possible with the least amount of stress so decided it best to hire a guide for part of our trip. Avraham came recommended to me by an Israeli friend, and his name also came up when I researched independently. I initially thought the price a little high, but after our experience I consider our time with him priceless. Not only was he incredibly patient, even tempered and great company, he was an endless source of knowledge and experience. This was not the average tour guide, this was like traveling with a college professor-and he was full of recommendations from where to eat, follow up reading, and personal insights. He brought us to well know and lesser known sights, all the while adjusting to our diverse sets of interests and temperaments. I most enthusiastically recommend Avraham and hope to have another tour with him ourselves next time we travel to this part of the world. Possibly a combination of Jordan and Israel.
On a friend's recommendation, we hired Avraham for a seven day tour (that included Petra). We were continually stunned at his remarkable knowledge, professionalism, and genuine concern for our well being. I've used numerous guides in the past (my third trip to Israel) and have never been more pleased or satisfied. He made this trip so very special; we cannot thank him enough. He took care of everything and continually went out of his way to ensure everything went so smoothly, you would think the country worked for him! He is a gentleman and a scholar, and now a friend.
initial plan was several day tours, each day starting and ending in Tel Aviv, with one night in Petra. Avraham planned a route that included overnight in the desert to cut some driving time, booked wonderful hotels, and made sure that our guests receive a VIP treatment 24/7. During the trip the guest had some additional requests and Avraham adjusted the route on the spot. Avraham is a pleasure to work with - prompt, attentive, well organized, considerate and flexible. The guest was very happy and so was I. The cost was similar to other guides, but the quality of service is beyond compare. Highly recommended.
